(PRWEB) June 23, 2008 -- In the last five years there has been an increase in companies offering yacht racing to amateurs and total sailing novices on a pay per berth basis. Global Yacht Racing has always aimed to provide something more to its customers than simply wallowing around in a sailing school boat at the back of the fleet. With this exciting new yacht the company aims to provide really competitive yacht racing to sailors of all abilities on a yacht set up and designed for racing.
In line with its ethos of opening up the world of yacht racing to everyone, Global Yacht Racing is now offering people the chance to compete amongst the top classes with a real focus on racing hard. The company has its eye on some good results this year and have put together a team of amateur sailors to race the yacht in a season of inshore and offshore racing. The Global Yacht Racing team were delighted with a fantastic 2nd in Class zero in their first race on board the 42 Sport -the RORC Morgan Cup Race.
Yacht race training is always included as part of the Global Yacht Racing package so that the crews really are primed for racing and involved, rather than being sailed around the race course on a cruising yacht.
The yacht is an exciting grand prix race yacht from Cowes based yacht designers Stimson Yachts which Global Yacht Racing are campaigning in a full season of inshore and offshore racing in 2008 and 2009. The 42 Sport has been designed with two goals in mind - to win races and offer excellent handling. This makes her the ideal yacht for Global Yacht Racing who provide opportunities for ordinary people to take part in exciting and challenging yacht races and regattas all over the world. The 42 Sport offers a fantastic balance between the exhilaration of a great ride and the handling and stability demanded of a successful training/charter yacht. Global Yacht Racing's novice crew should have the time of their life and are hoping for a good result in the JP Morgan Round the Island Race, the yacht's first regatta of the season.
