Embark on a Mediterranean Yacht Cruise

When considering yachting vacations there are few areas better to explore than the Mediterranean. The section of the Atlantic Ocean known as the Mediterranean basin, bordered by Africa, Europe and Asia, was an important trade route for the ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian sailors. Today this means that the Mediterranean offers a range of locations steeped in history, artistry and beauty.

This beauty extends beyond man-made wonders, with the natural splendour ranging from forests and woodlands, to the stunning azure of your host: the Atlantic Ocean.

Tides and Climate

On a more practical note, the fact that the basin has a narrow connection to the rest of the Atlantic means that the tides here are limited and can be gentle, which would make them ideal for yachting. The best time to visit the Mediterranean is in summer, when the climate is hot and dry, as the area is known for its wet winters. While temperatures do vary depending on where one is visiting, it?s safe to assume that one can expect hot to humid weather (especially in locations like Greece), that make for perfect seaside conditions.

Locations

The comfort and mobility of a Mediterranean Yacht Cruise means that your vacation can include as many Mediterranean spots as you care to visit. While the number of options seems endless, there are a few routes that have proven popular and may be a good start for your travel considerations. The Cote D?Azur on the French Riviera is often described as the most glamorous of the Mediterranean spots. The area is known to get very full during tourist season, with the months to avoid apparently being July and August, but is definitely worth the visit.

You might also consider going to Corsica and Sardinia, which are known to be the second largest islands of the Mediterranean. Corsica is a French Island while Sardinia is part of Italy, and the two offer untouched diverse coastline as well as mountain villages to be visited. If you sail to the Amalfi Coast, you will hopefully catch some of the festivals that can provide visitors with insight into the local culture. These islands are also known for their natural beauty and historical sites. On the other end of the Mediterranean you can find Turkey, a place known for its history, vibrant culture and uniquely excellent cuisine.

These are but a few of the gorgeous destinations you can visit while on your Mediterranean Yacht Charter holiday.

On your Yacht

Despite all the wonderful places available for you to visit, you will probably find that spending time on your Yacht is just as enjoyable. Floating on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, enjoying some relaxation and the bright Mediterranean sun will no doubt leave you feeling refreshed and pampered.

The Mediterranean has a huge store of delights available and perfectly suited to a Yachting Cruise experience, all that remains is for you to get started planning your trip!
