Antartic Sailing, Atlantic Crossings and Australian Adventures
(PRWEB) October 12, 2007 -- The UK sailing school Global Yacht Training now offers some spectacular expedition adventures as part of their extended sailing program. These sailing adventures offer people the chance to explore the Southern Ocean regions, mounting expeditions to Antarctica, South Georgia, Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego including Cape Horn and the Beagle Channel.
The yacht used for these expeditions is Blizzard, a 20 metre, schooner rigged, aluminium, expedition sailing yacht, built to operate independently in the wild and remote regions of the world.
Global Yacht Training has teamed up with experienced and seasoned adventurers Dave Pryce and Hannah McKeand from Blizzard to provide these programs. Dave's broad sailing experience means you are in safe hands while his love for the wild places and its wildlife ensure that your time is both interesting and fun. His first mate Hannah McKeand has a passion for exploring and has also completed a round the world race as well as setting a world record for a solo journey to the South Pole.
In partnership with Dave and Hannah, Global Yacht Training now offers people the chance to join genuine expeditions, where participants are integral members of the team, living in close quarters and sharing responsibility for all aspects of sailing and logistics. The reward of joining a small team in this way, ensures a truly intimate experience with the landscape and the wildlife of the deep south.
Global Yacht Training and Global Yacht Racing's ethos is that sailing and yacht racing is for everyone and encourages amateur and seasoned sailors alike to take part in exciting yacht races, challenging expeditions or ocean crossings. These expeditions are open to anyone with a sense of adventure and willingness to take part. They form part of Global Yacht Training's new range of worldwide sailing adventures which also include Australian sailing, Biscay crossings, Mediterranean sailing trips, Caribbean cruising and Atlantic passages. These sailing passages can be great ways to improve your sailing experience and build miles towards gaining RYA sailing qualifications such as the RYA Yachtmaster.
