Fair Wind Sailing School Selected as Only Instructor Qualification Location In Caribbean
St Thomas, Virgin Islands (PRWEB) September 11, 2007 -- Fair Wind Sailing School (http://www.fairwindsailing.com/) has been selected by the American Sailing Association (ASA) to host a Catamaran Instructor Qualification Clinic (IQC) in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands on October 17 and 18, 2007. This clinic will be the only opportunity for sailing instructors to earn ASA qualifications in the Caribbean this year. "We are honored to be the only location selected in the Caribbean to offer Instructor Qualification and are pleased to have this opportunity to help the ASA expand its instructor qualifications," commented David Bello, President of Fair Wind Sailing School. "We believe we are the best sailing school in the islands and are thrilled to add instructor qualification to our repertoire," continued Bello.
The IQC, which will qualify participants to teach ASA 114 Cruising Catamaran Lessons, will be conducted from Fair Wind Sailing School's Red Hook, St Thomas location and will be taught by an Instructor Evaluator brought to the Virgin Islands by Fair Wind Sailing School. The clinic will consist of one day of practice and one day of examination aboard Fair Wind's Leopard 45 catamaran. The Leopard 45, also known as the Moorings 4500, is a Cruising Boat of The Year Winner and ideally designed for the sailing conditions in the Caribbean. "This is one of the best vessels used for sailing instruction; I'm sure our instructor guests will enjoy the cat as much as our charter guests and sailing school students," offered Bello. Registration for the IQC is limited and can be completed by qualified individuals online by visiting the ASA website https://www.american-sailing.com/instructors/instructor_clinics.html

Owning a yacht can be so freeing. Imagine being able to throw a huge yacht party just whenever you wanted, or being able to go out on it for no good reason what so ever. However, if you have never owned a yacht before, you may know someone that has. If this is the case, one of the best things that you can do before making your yacht purchase is to ask them about it. Understanding Pontoon Boats
If you are new to boats and boating, you may wonder how the pontoon boat got its name. Pontoons are cylindrical shaped objects that have the ability to float on water, and due to this characteristic, they were often used for large structures that required staying afloat. This included buildings and bridges that had to achieve this objective, whether permanently or temporarily. With such a useful trait, it was not long before some individuals hooked onto the idea of using pontoons to construct vessels that could stay afloat on water and transport humans and goods as well. The end result was the pontoon boat.

Boat Detailing - How to clean and protect your boats teak and Gel-Coat
Compounding (Oxidation Removal):Gel-coat, the exterior finish on fiberglass boats, is a porous mix of polyester resins and pigments that must be sealed from the damaging effects of ultra-violet (UV) rays, salt, dirt and weather. Neglect it, and it becomes more porous due to the oxidation of the mixture resins and what remains is a faded, dull finish.
